This video demonstrates a practical method for synchronizing multiple ADCs in phased array radar and advanced antenna systems using SYNC chaining. Large-scale designs often face complex clock routing challenges, but a short SYNC pulse of 5–10 ns ensures deterministic alignment across ADCs. Using Teledyne e2v’s EV10AS940 synchronization kit with two EV10AS940 ADCs connected to an FPGA via HSSL links, the setup replicates real-world MIMO architectures. The demonstration covers hardware configuration, SYNC propagation for phase alignment. Results confirm robust synchronization, even after power cycling.
